Bird List
We birded Buenaventura all day, with a break for lunch at the lodge. One of the best days of birding ever, both in terms of rarities and sheer number of species. The trails are good, and wide enough for everyone to have a chance at the bird. A number offer canopy vistas, giving fine views where we might otherwise be straining our necks to see overhead. The hummingbird feeders at Buenaventura are very good.

One of the real joys of Ecuador is the food. It is uniformly excellent, and the soups are simply superb. This small ecolodge has terrific food.

A very nice lodge as well, as all of the Jocotoco ecolodges proved to be.
